Reflections... There are so many people that have crossed over this year

Reflections... There are so many people that have crossed over this year. I don't always write about it for privacy and other reasons. But for some reason I felt like sharing my sentiments on Tony Hsieh.
.
Some of you may be have heard of Tony Hsieh. He was the founder of the online shoe retailer Zappos. The Friday after Thanksgiving, he died suddenly in a house fire. I don't know the details.
.
Ironically, I found out because I was shopping on Zappos looking for winter boots and saw the headline.
.
And I felt this wave of grief.
.
I didn't even know Tony, but he was my colleague at Harvard. He lived in Quincy House with my brother.
.
And he died in an accident, not even COVID.
.
He was 46 years old, just two years older than me.
.
I read his book Delivering Happiness which was his motto for Zappos and life in general.
.
So, it got me thinking, what else can I do TODAY to help deliver happiness?
.
Sometimes it's little things that could require some courage. Make a phone call. Say I love you. Get in touch. Smile and say something kind to a stranger.
.
I continue to reflect on that because there are many ways I'd like to contribute to the world.
.
And these moments of grief can be a reminder to be whatever you'd like to be in life.
.
Have courage.
.
RIP Tony Hsieh.
.
