How to Ease Your Day with Color
Color has the power to shift our emotions, to uplift our mood and help us feel more focused. By learning some simple color tools, you can bring more of the therapeutic aspects of color into your life. Are you needing focus, optimism, and joy? Think yellow. You can use your imagination or pick up a yellow crayon. In your mind's eye, imagine holding a yellow ball of light. Let it grow brighter and brighter for a couple minutes then place it into your belly just under your sternum. What do you notice? If you have any areas of inflammation or itchy skin, you can also take your imaginary yellow ball and place it there, letting your healing hands soothe the area for a few minutes. If you need a more tangible exercise, take a coloring page and fill it with all kinds of yellows and other colors you are drawn to. Yellow also has a sense of renewal or rebirth, so this is a great exercise to do if you are feeling stuck. As a bonus, coloring in general helps to integrate all parts of the brain. To get you started, here are some colors and their characteristics. You can play with these colors whether using your imagination and healing hands, coloring fun designs, or simply incorporating the color into your outfit.RED: creativity, enthusiasm, passion.
