Ok, so many of you have been asking for this list!!!
- Ok, so many of you have been asking for this list!!! I want to emphasize to please take care of your mind-body-spirit routine and healthy foods first. See my prior info graphics and posts on these.
I realize that a MultiDimensional approach also includes supportive and nourishing vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other supplement IF additional help needed.
Think of increasing antioxidants with vitamins A and C, elderberry, as well as NAC (N-acetylcysteine) which help the body detoxify. NAC increases glutathione which is your body’s major antioxidant.
Herbal adaptogens that help strengthen and support the body’s endocrine, nervous, and immune systems: ashwagandha, astragalus, tulsi holy basil and schisandra. Medicinal mushrooms are a great lift, including turkey tail, lion’s main, cordyceps, maitake, and reishi. Pick one or a blend of adaptogens.
Gut health is huge for your immune system, so probiotics can be key.
B vitamins overall are good for times of stress and B-6 in particular is known for immune-support.
Vitamin D acts as a hormone in the body. With less exposure to sunshine during colder months, most people could benefit. If you know your Vit D levels (25-OH-VitD), aim for at least over 40 but not over 70.
Zinc can strengthen the immune system and is also helpful for wound-healing. However, zinc alone is probably not enough.
Spirulina is a blue-green algae with many nourishing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, all great for the immune system.
BONUS>> Omega-3s also shine for their anti-inflammatory activity. I tend to recommend low-medium doses over high doses.
Each person has their own needs. In general, do not go over the recommendations on the bottles. For sensitive individuals, start with lower doses and build up if tolerated (Eg, some supplements may feel too stimulating if taken too much too soon.) You don’t need all of these! And they are NOT considered treatment for coronavirus. However, if you’d like to strengthen your body’s immune system, then incorporate as needed WITH wise mind-body-spirit and food choices.
Air hugs and love,
