I asked my 11-year-old daughter what makes her smile so naturally. Here's what she said:
.
💜"I look around for something that's beautiful in everyday life.
.
Like the time when I was laying down and you had put out your dresses so nicely and were sewing them. That was really nice."💜
.
Wow.
.
That was a random moment last week when I was altering some of my clothes. I remember her watching me and had no idea that this small snapshot was also a moment of beauty.
.
It's not so much the big things that happen — although those can also bring great joy.
.
🌟But to acknowledge peace and happiness in any random moment — that takes a deeper kind of wisdom and contentment of your human experience.
.
Sure, it probably feels easier to do this if you're an old soul.
.
This was a great reminder to me of how easily we gloss over our lives.
.
Now, as I'm typing this, I take a look around and see that it can also be easy to soak up life!
.
The cicadas are chirping away... there's a gratitude box next to me from one of my littles... and the grounding scent of a cup of tea.
.
💕Beauty in everyday life.
.
Much love,
.

This is a big step for me. I’m circling back around to the medical profession. Why? To help heal healthcare. 🙌
